FINE ARTIST &

PHOTOGRAPHER

Soraia Oliveira, is a versatile artist with a background in Fine Arts, holding a Bachelor's degree from the School of Arts and Design in Caldas da Rainha, with a rich academic path that includes two Erasmus programs at the Free University of Bolzano in Italy and the Accademia di Belle Arti - L'Aquila, Italy.

In her work, she creates compositions that question the human body and, above all, the fragility of being. She finds her inspiration in the encounter between interior life and social ferocity. This path is formed mainly through self-portraits created with various artistic resources, including photography, sound, painting, and sculpture.

EXPLORING THE HUMAN FORM

Through her bold and intimate depictions of the human form, she aims to challenge societal norms and celebrate the beauty of all bodies. Her pieces invite the viewer on a journey of self-reflection, encouraging them to confront their own perceptions and biases. With a keen eye for detail and an audacious use of color, Soraia's work is both raw and mesmerizing, leaving a lasting impact on all who experience it.

Soraia proposes an emptying of representational conventions to show the importance of the unknown and the vulnerability of time. Transforming her vision and reality, exploring the nature of sexuality, violence, and the artificial, she develops intimate creations that act as a visual biography.

CREATING IS ONLY HALF OF THE PROCESS

Soraia's dedication to her creative process is reflected in the extensive research and experimentation she undertakes to bring her ideas to life. Whether through reading, searching for materials, or finding the perfect props, she continually seeks new ways to elevate her work and fully embody her artistic vision.

Stepping outside of her comfort zone; Soraia creates captivating pieces that resonate with viewers on a deep and emotional level. Her passion and commitment to the journey of creation is evident in everyone of her pieces.
